Acrylic Painting Technique

A fabulous acrylic painting technique is creating a loose background by choosing 3 colours (one warm and two cool or one cool and two warm colours)  mixed with  gel medium and painting with a dollar store shower squeegee but not overworking the colours.  Spray with a little water. Add plastic wrap on top and let dry.  Remove plastic wrap and repeat one more time with a new set of colours, if you like, or find your new found subject matter.  Post an image of this painting technique and I'll do the same.  Any comments?
